→ Introduction

Summary: what does Google Ads cost in the Netherlands in 2026?

Google Ads costs you money in three ways: the ad budget you pay to Google, management by a specialist and sometimes a one-off set-up fee. Agencies advise an ad budget of at least €300 to €750 a month. Management for small and mid-sized businesses usually costs €250 to €1,000 a month (Quantum Media, September 2026). A click in the Netherlands costs from about €1 to €29, depending on your industry and the tool you check (DataForSEO, Ahrefs and Semrush, November 2026). At Game-changers a Google Ads partnership starts from €500 a month excluding VAT, with no set-up fee.

→ Ad budget

You set it yourself. Agencies advise a minimum of €300 to €750 a month.

→ Cost per click

From about €1 (physiotherapist, estate agent) to €29 (mortgage adviser) per click in the Netherlands.

→ Agency management

€250 to €1,000 a month, or 10 to 20% of your ad budget.

→ Freelancer

€75 to €125 an hour.

→ Set-up fee

€0 to €1,500, one-off.

Google Ads means advertising in Google search: you only pay when someone clicks your ad. Below you can see where each figure comes from, how many enquiries your money can buy and how to compare two quotes fairly.

What do you pay for with Google Ads?

A Google Ads quote almost always has three parts. Check that every quote mentions all three.

→ 1. Ad budget, paid to Google

This money goes straight to Google and is charged per click. You choose a daily budget. Quantum Media advises at least €300 a month, Bright Brands works from €750 a month.

→ 2. Management, paid to the agency or freelancer

The work of setting up campaigns, choosing keywords, writing ads and adjusting every week. According to Quantum Media this costs small and mid-sized businesses €250 to €1,000 a month, and according to Digitale Timmerman most Dutch SME agencies charge €350 to €1,000.

→ 3. Set-up fee, one-off

For the account, conversion tracking and the first campaigns. Quantum Media mentions €500 to €1,500, PaginaBooster charges €500 and Bright Brands charges nothing.

Overview: the three cost items of Google Ads. Ad budget to Google at least €300 to €750 a month, management €250 to €1,000 a month or 10 to 20% of your budget, set-up fee €0 to €1,500 one-off (Quantum Media, Digitale Timmerman, Bright Brands, PaginaBooster, 2026).

What does a click cost in Google?

A click in the Netherlands usually costs between €2 and €11, and almost €30 in busy industries. That is what our own measurement of the average cost per click in Google for ten Dutch keywords shows (DataForSEO, November 2026). The tools report prices in US dollars; we convert them to euros at the ECB rate of 6 November 2026 (1 euro = 1.1165 US dollars).

→ Low: healthcare and housing

Physiotherapist €2.24, dentist €2.49, estate agent €2.60 and buying solar panels €2.65 per click.

→ Medium: local services

Personal trainer €3.29, plumber €5.58 and bookkeeper €8.37 per click. Read more about advertising for local businesses.

→ High: advice and large jobs

Employment lawyer €10.94, roofer €11.03 and mortgage adviser €29.10 per click.

PaginaBooster sees the same picture: regional trades pay €1 to €3 per click, national service providers €3 to €8 and B2B finance or legal advice €10 or more. For comparison: in the large LocaliQ benchmark of thousands of campaigns, mostly in the United States, a click costs €4.85 on average (June 2026, converted).

Chart: average cost per click in Google per keyword in the Netherlands. Mortgage adviser €29.10, roofer €11.03, employment lawyer €10.94, bookkeeper €8.37, plumber €5.58, personal trainer €3.29, buying solar panels €2.65, estate agent €2.60, dentist €2.49, physiotherapist €2.24. LocaliQ average €4.85 (DataForSEO, November 2026, converted to euros).

You often pay less than your maximum bid. According to Google, the actual cost per click is the amount needed to rank just above the advertiser below you. A better ad and landing page therefore make your clicks cheaper.

Our research: what the click prices show

For this article, Game-changers pulled the average cost per click of twelve Dutch keywords from three tools on 8 November 2026 (DataForSEO, Ahrefs and Semrush, November 2026). All amounts are converted to euros. A dash means the tool has no cost per click.

KeywordDataForSEO (Google Ads data)AhrefsSemrush
mortgage adviser€29.10€8.06–
google ads uitbesteden (outsourcing Google Ads)€27.08€10.75€17.41
google ads kosten (Google Ads costs)€13.64€2.24€5.81
roofer€11.03€5.37€7.15
employment lawyer€10.94€3.13€6.33
bookkeeper€8.37€3.58€5.12
plumber€5.58€1.79€3.58
personal trainer€3.29€1.07–
buying solar panels€2.65€1.34€1.42
estate agent€2.60€0.99€1.42
dentist€2.49€1.34–
physiotherapist€2.24€0.90€1.73

Four things stand out.

→ Every tool gives a different price

DataForSEO takes its figures straight from Google Ads and comes out highest. Ahrefs and Semrush use their own estimate and usually come out 35 to 70% lower. The order is almost the same though: roofer, employment lawyer and bookkeeper are expensive everywhere, physiotherapist, estate agent and solar panels cheap everywhere. So use a tool for direction, and check your own cost per click after a month of advertising.

→ A thirteenfold gap between industries

The most expensive click (mortgage adviser, €29.10) costs 13 times as much as the cheapest (physiotherapist, €2.24), according to the Google Ads data. Your industry decides your budget more than your choice of agency.

→ Local services are affordable

Seven of the ten industries sit below €10 per click, and five below €4. With €1,000 a month a dentist or estate agent already gets well over 300 visitors.

→ Someone ready to outsource is worth twice as much

A click on "google ads uitbesteden" (outsourcing Google Ads) costs €27.08, a click on "google ads kosten" (Google Ads costs) €13.64 (DataForSEO). Ahrefs and Semrush see the same gap: €10.75 against €2.24 and €17.41 against €5.81. Advertisers pay at least twice as much for someone ready to outsource as for someone still comparing prices. The closer to the purchase, the more expensive the click.

“In an expensive industry you don’t win by outbidding your competitor. You win by turning more visitors into enquiries. That’s why with every client we look at the landing page and conversion tracking first, and only then at the bid.”

How does the daily budget work?

In Google Ads you set an average daily budget. On a busy day Google may spend up to twice that amount, but over a month you never pay more than 30.4 times your daily budget (Google Ads Help).

→ Worked example

Want to spend €1,000 a month? Set a daily budget of €33 (€1,000 divided by 30.4). On a busy day Google may spend €66, but over the whole month you pay no more than €1,003.

Daily budget worked example: for €1,000 a month you set €33 a day. Google may spend up to €66 on one day and at most €1,003 a month, 30.4 times the daily budget (Google Ads Help).

What does Google Ads management cost per month?

Agencies charge for management in two ways: a fixed monthly fee or a percentage of your ad budget.

→ Fixed monthly fee

Joepify from €249, De Zoekmachinist €445, €645 or €845 and Bright Brands €445 or €845 a month, plus €195 for each extra country or language.

→ Percentage of your budget

Usually 10 to 20% (Quantum Media, Digitale Timmerman). PaginaBooster starts at 30% for budgets up to €1,000 and drops to 12% at €9,000 to €10,000, with a minimum of €500 a month.

→ Hourly rate

A freelancer charges €75 to €125 an hour (Digitale Timmerman).

Which model is cheaper depends on your budget. With a small budget a percentage is cheap, but it also buys few hours. With a large budget a percentage quickly costs more than a fixed fee, while the work does not grow at the same rate.

Chart: management fee at 10 to 20% of budget versus a fixed €445 package. At €1,000 budget €100 to €200, at €3,000 €300 to €600, at €10,000 €1,000 to €2,000 a month.

How many enquiries does your money buy?

Work it out from your cost per click and your conversion rate: the share of visitors who make an enquiry. In the LocaliQ benchmark, 8.18% of visitors from a search ad make an enquiry or purchase on average, and an enquiry costs €59.73 on average (June 2026, converted).

→ Worked example

You spend €1,000 a month on ads and a click costs €3. That is 333 visitors. At 8.18% conversion you get about 27 enquiries. Add €445 for management and you pay €1,445, so about €54 per enquiry.

Worked example: €1,000 of ad budget at €3 per click gives 333 visitors, at 8.18% conversion 27 enquiries, with €445 management about €54 per enquiry (conversion: LocaliQ, June 2026).

The sum shows where most of the money is: in conversion. A landing page that goes from 8% to 12% conversion brings in half as many enquiries again on the same budget. That is why a good specialist looks not only at clicks but also at your website and your conversion rate.

Lower costs through better tracking

Google Ads learns from the conversions it can see. If your tracking misses part of your enquiries, Google bids on the wrong visitors and you pay more per customer. Ad blockers, cookie banners and browser privacy settings mean standard tracking misses more and more conversions.

New technology fixes this. Google itself says enhanced conversions help you measure conversions more accurately and bid more effectively.

→ Server-side tracking

Conversions are sent to Google through your own server, not only through the visitor's browser, so fewer get lost.

→ Enhanced conversions

Hashed customer data from your form links an enquiry to the right click, even when a cookie is missing.

→ Offline conversions

Calls, appointments and closed deals from your CRM go back to Google, so Google optimises for customers instead of form fills.

→ Result at Rug expertise centrum

31% lower cost per conversion thanks to more accurate conversion data, and 96% of orders linked to their marketing source.

How to compare two Google Ads quotes

Ask every agency or freelancer these questions before you sign.

→ Is the ad budget separate from the management fee?

You want to pay the budget to Google yourself, on your own account.

→ Is management a fixed fee or a percentage?

Work out what it costs when your budget grows.

→ Is there a set-up fee?

These range from €0 to €1,500.

→ Do they measure what an enquiry or sale costs?

Without proper conversion tracking, nobody steers on results, only on clicks.

→ How long is the contract and what is the notice period?

Bright Brands, for example, starts with a first period of 3 months.

→ Who does the work?

A senior specialist or a junior account manager?

How does a collaboration with Gamechangers work?

Based on your objectives, we analyse your current marketing, find the biggest growth leaks, then build and optimise the system: ads, landing pages, tracking, automation and follow-up.

What makes Gamechangers different?

We believe commitment and ownership is key, therfore we always assign one of our Sr. managing partners or founders as your primary contact. That way you have the commitment of a founder/owner instead of being a number.

Secondly, we do not just manage campaigns. Based on your industry and objectives we build complete growth systems that connect strategy, advertising, AI, data and growth.

What services do Gamechangers offer?

Paid social, Google Ads, SEO, AI SEO, CRO, recruitment marketing, content design, tracking and full-funnel strategy.

Do you also manage campaigns during the weekend?

Yes, we recognize that growth never sleeps and therfore have availability on weekends.

How do we know where our marketing is leaking?

We look at the full growth system: traffic, creative, landing pages, tracking, lead quality, follow-up and sales conversion. Most companies do not have one marketing problem. They have several small leaks that together slow growth.

Will more ad spend actually bring us more revenue?

Only if the system behind it is strong enough. We do not scale budget blindly. First we check if the offer, funnel, tracking and follow-up can turn extra traffic into profitable customers.

Can you help if we already work with another agency?

Yes. Many companies come to us because their current agency only manages campaigns. We look deeper: strategy, data, conversion, automation and revenue impact. We can either improve the current setup or rebuild what is holding growth back.

What if we generate leads, but they do not convert?

Then the problem is probably not just advertising. It could be lead quality, speed-to-lead, follow-up, sales process, landing page expectations or targeting. We analyse the full journey and fix the weak points, including sales training.

How fast can we see results?

Success loves speed, this is our mantra. Quick wins are often visible in the first weeks, especially when tracking, creative or landing pages are underperforming. Bigger growth comes from structured testing and optimisation over time.

Do we need a big budget to work with you?

No, not necessarily. We have developed specific plans for local businesses and smaller budgets.

What happens during the free strategy call?

We review your objectives and current situation, show where growth is leaking, and explain what we would improve first.
